Support

With over 400 families holding membership across the Highlands, TIM has become a platform for sharing and offering advice and support.

Activities

Our aim is to create a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment where families can experience moments of joy and connection, without the stress of crowds or over stimulation.

Volunteers

This Is Me Highland is run by a team of passionate parents who themselves have children with neurodevelopmental conditions.

Funding

We aim to fund at least 50 per cent of all of the events and activities we arrange for families.

Who we are

This Is Me Highland (TIM) is a volunteer-run charity founded in 2018 by proactive and caring parents. We organise activities and events for children and young people, who have neurological conditions such as autism and ADHD, and their families.

Our events are designed for families with children and young people who have a diagnosis of a neurological condition—including autism and ADHD—or who are currently awaiting a diagnosis (within the NDAS criteria). We strive to create inclusive and supportive environments where everyone feels welcome.
To support the whole family, siblings are also welcome, ensuring families can enjoy activities together. Please note that families must be registered with us in order to participate in events.

We organise a variety of activities, including exclusive hires of soft play centres, hall rentals with bouncy castles, woodland experiences, day trips and more. Our goal is to provide enjoyable and accessible experiences for our members to enable them to enjoy events they would otherwise struggle to attend.

Once your family is registered with This Is Me Highland you will be invited into our private Facebook group where events are shared and you all be invited to all upcoming events.

While some events may have a nominal fee, TIM often covers at least 50% of the cost for families. We aim to make our activities affordable and accessible to all members.

There are several ways to support us:

Donations: Financial contributions help us fund events and activities.
Fundraising: Participate in or organise fundraising events to benefit TIM.

Our daughter has attended events for the last few years and it has opened different activities to her that were not always accessible otherwise,

We have attended a few events arranged by This is Me. They have been carefully planned and thought out with the best interests of our children taken seriously. I am so grateful this exists.

Attending events held my This Is Me has allowed us as a family to experience events with my son that would be other wise not possible or just too daunting. Meeting families in similar situations is also very refreshing.
